Founders Story

I’m Ethan Leyland, a CSM Womenswear graduate and founder of Unpicked Seams.

From interning at Oscar de la Renta in New York to working with Harris Reed in London, I’ve been lucky to learn from some of the most creative forces in fashion. Along the way, I’ve also dressed and tailored for icons like Dua Lipa, Kali Uchis, Jourdan Dunn, Jessica Chastain, and Björk.

But my journey started far from the glamour, I grew up on a council estate in St Helens, and when I first entered fashion, I couldn’t even afford good-quality tools. That’s why I created Unpicked Seams: an affordable, self-funded brand, tested by industry professionals, built to give the next generation of designers access to the tools they need.

The first release is the Pro Design Kit, everything I wish I’d had when I started.

This is just the beginning, and with your support, likes, shares, and most importantly, purchases, we can grow this into a true community for the next generation of designers.
